by | Mar 1, 2021

Building your own virtual office assistant sounds like a great idea! And while you may not be able do it with people (at least not yet…),  you can do it with the Xerox AltaLink 8100 Series. There are two lines to choose from : the AltaLink C8100 for color printing, and the AltaLink B8100 for monochrome (black and white). In each product line, there are five models with different speeds ranging from 30 to 70 pages-per-minute (ppm) and different duty cycles. One of them is sure to be the right starting point for building your new virtual office assistant.
Once you choose your printer, you can begin to customize it with a wide variety of features and functions that can help you improve your productivity. Watch the following video for to get an overview of this customizable system.

Completely Customizable Options

Let’s look at some of the options you can customize for your needs:

Finishers

Choose from seven different finishing options, to allow you to meet all of your finishing needs. Advanced finishing options include stapling/stacking, hole punching, creasing/scoring, saddle-stitch booklet making, and even half-fold, c-fold, and z-folding for brochures.

Paper Trays

The AltaLink comes standard with two 520-sheet adjustable trays that can handle media sizes up to 11.7 x 17 in and 12 x 18 in, and the option to choose the high capacity tandem tray configuration (for a total paper capacity of 3,140 sheets) or the four tray module configuration (30 and 35 speed machines only; for a total paper capacity of 2,180 sheets). If you want even more paper capacity for high-volume jobs, the optional high capacity feeder holds 3,000 sheets of letter-size paper, increasing the maximum paper capacity to 6,140 sheets.

Long Sheet Printing

The optional Long Sheet Feed Kit provides the ability to print up to 12.6 x 52 in. / 320 x 1,320 mm media.

Network Accounting

Network Accounting tracks print, scan, fax, Internet fax, server fax, and copy jobs by User ID and Account ID and stores them in a job log. You can use this information to manage device usage and to perform detailed cost analysis. Users are prompted for accounting information when submitting jobs to the device. You can compile job log information from the accounting server and produce formatted reports.
